When dreams of parenthood don’t line up with reality…

The tension was high. You could cut through it with a knife. I remember clearly sitting on the floor and crying. This was not the picture I had in my head when I imagined being a mother. Where is the mom who is calm, safe, loving and fun? You know, the mother I always wanted to be? She had left the building. Life had become everything I never wanted. And it was hard.

But before I go on, lets back up…..

March 2020 our family survived an international move done in three days’ time. Covid-19 tore us from the home we knew and loved. We left our home of 11 years, all our belongings, our dog left with a trusted friend…everything. With no closure, not even a goodbye to the people who had become like family to us. The months that followed were surreal and difficult. Lots of unwanted behaviors, and not just from the kids! I had just finished an intensive coaching program and was thinking about what was next, when I came across parent coaching with Connected Families.

What a gift to us. Through this time with Chad, our coach, we realized ways our family operated that fed the behaviors and heaped shame upon our kids. It was a difficult process, and I am so grateful we found coaching when we did. Having someone walk with us through that pain and through the misbehaviors, finding the root and knowing what to do about it, was truly a blessing. We saw changes, slowly over time but LASTING CHANGE, and behaviors began to decrease. We are still a work in progress (we will always be!) but I can truly say, through this program our family is more connected and we as parents are more equipped to empower our children with tools for growth and maturity.

It was through my own desperation I became a parent coach with Connected Families. I figured gaining every tool I could to help my family grow closer and heal from the shame and its effects would be worth it, and if I could help other families along the way what a difference that could make. I got my parent coach certification and I couldn’t be more thrilled because now I know, after a year of sitting in this material, that this stuff WORKS. Is it a lot of work on the parents’ side? Absolutely. But is it worth it? You bet.

In the initial Parent Coaching package, you will walk away with a new perspective on your kids and an understanding of:

-Brain science and how it affects your child’s behavior (the behavior is just a symptom!)

-How to truly connect with your children (even in misbehavior!)

-how to navigate sibling conflict

-channeling your child’s gifts “gone awry” and a plan to healthily direct them

-how to rebuild bonds with your children that may have been broken or wounded

-implementing consequences that actually work

-and so much more!

IN ADDITION You will receive a printable workbook to take notes as we have our sessions together (so this stuff sticks and doesn’t become just another book on the shelf), with actionable steps at the end of each session to directly apply to your family to see that change and experience deeper connection and joy with your children. You will also have a non judgmental space to express your concerns and receive support, encouragement and accountability from me, a mom who has been there!

Having a connected family is possible. There is hope. I’m here to help. Book a 30 minute complimentary consult today, no strings attached! I can’t wait to work together and have a front row seat to the changes to come.
